St. Kitts and Nevis – Citizenship by Investment


The St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program, also known as Economic Citizenship, was established in 1984, making it the longest established program of this kind in the world. Foreign nationals can obtain St. Kitts and Nevis Economic Citizenship through the purchase of real estate on an approved development or investment in a pre-approved real estate project on either St Kitts or Nevis.

There are two routes available for applicants seeking to qualify for citizenship by investing in real estate: by investing in a pre-approved real estate development or, for a limited time only, through the purchase of qualifying private residential property.

Real Estate Developments

Applicants may qualify for citizenship through an investment in a pre-approved real estate project, which may include hotel shares, villas, and condominium units. The minimum real estate investment required by law is US$200,000 (resalable after 7 years) or US$400,000 (resalable after 5 years) for each main applicant.

Application Process

Requirements – to qualify for citizenship under the real estate option, the government requires applicants to make an investment in designated, officially approved real estate with a value of at least US$ 400,000 plus the payment of government fees and other fees and taxes. As the application procedure under this option involves the purchase of real estate, this can lengthen the processing time depending on the chosen property.
